Discover great food with iAte.

How does iAte work?

iAte automatically monitors Twitter to discover tweets about restaurants. iAte attempts to import any tweet by any user that mentions a restaurant. Behind the scenes a natural language processing system analyzes every tweet mentioning food from any user on Twitter. The system attempts to determine whether a restaurant is mentioned in the tweet, and finds the specific restaurant that was mentioned. By matching a tweet with a restaurant, iAte makes it easy to see all the tweets that are about a specific restaurant.

Twitter users can also tell iAte to import a tweet to their iAte profile by mentioning @iAte in their tweet. Even if iAte can not identify the restaurant, the tweet will automatically be added to the users eating history. If the restaurant is not automatically matched, the user also has the ability to manually match the tweet to a restaurant.

Restaurant reviews and photos

iAte is importing more restaurant eats from Twitter on a daily basis than the volume of reviews on CitySearch and Yelp combined. There is simply no other source with more real-time restaurant content filtered, searchable, and organized. iAte also automatically imports photos that are tweeted about restaurants and show them next to the tweet.

Discover trending restaurants

By automatically matching tweets about eating to a restaurant, iAte tracks the restaurants people are talking about in real-time. This can be a great source for news. Perhaps a restaurant closed. Perhaps there is a meet-up occuring. Perhaps there are some special deals. Or maybe a restaurant is trending because of great specials. Trending restaurants can be seen on the main page for each city and can be show by most popular in the past day, week, or month.

Remember your eating history

How many times have you been back to a restaurant only to look at the menu and say to yourself: "I know I order that last time but did I like it enough to get it again?" iAte solves this problem by saving your eating history. Easily access your past eats while your at the restaurant with iAte mobile.

Let iAte recommend restaurants

By using the iAte Followers and Friends tabs, you can see the most popular restaurants your followers and friends are eating at. On Twitter, you can ask @iAte to pick a popular restaurant for you. Just tweet "@iAte feedme" iAte will send you back a reply tweet with a restaurant recommendation.
